Step outside of the traditional 7 layer dip with this 7 Layer Hummus Dip featuring Sabra Hummus! Full of flavor and good-for-you ingredients, is sure to be a hit at your next tailgating party!
By raise of hands, who here loves hummus? I sure do! It is something I try to have stocked in my refrigerator at all times because it is a healthy food that can be used in so many ways! (Plus, it is something my toddler actually loves to eat, too!) My favorite way is to eat it right out of the container, by dipping some fresh veggies in it – simple and fills me up! It can easily be taken and eaten on-the-go as a snack or spread on a sandwich for a great alternative to your traditional condiments. It can also be added into your next tailgate menu, as it makes a great appetizer!
Not convinced? Did you know that only 2 spoonfuls of hummus a day will fulfill your bean recommendation for the week? 2 Spoons?! I don’t know about you, but something this delicious would be no problem for me to get in! Research shows that diets with increased bean consumption are associated with reduced risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Because of this, Sabra hummus is the perfect option for your tailgating menu. Think about it – you can sneak in some healthy and nobody will ever know because it tastes SO good!
For this recipe, I decided to take a slight spin on the traditional 7 layer refried bean dip and sub in some better-for-you Sabra hummus! I also swapped the sour cream out for non-fat plain Greek yogurt and made my guacamole from scratch (this way I can control what goes into it). If you really want to add in some more goodness, add a bonus layer of diced red onion!

I like bean dip, but HOLY CRAP I like this even more! I think I’d end up subbing a few things to make a full-Mediterranean dip (green olives for black, feta for cheddar and maybe a spicy feta dip instead of guacamole, then drizzle the top with olive oil, lemon, and ground sumac). I LOVE this concept!
