I’m always looking for a new and fun way to eat lunch. Lunch-time boredom does not discriminate even to dietitians. I get stuck in a rut and end up eating the same old thing over and over. Don’t get me wrong – if it’s healthy and delicious, why not eat it again and again. But sometimes you just need to shake things up a bit.
Get ready to be shaken because I’ve found a product that will help you banish meal time boredom and bring nutrition back to lunch: Toufayan Pita!
Toufayan Bakeries is a family-owned bakery in the U.S. that makes more than 100 delicious products available across the nation. It is the largest Pita company in the U.S.!
Toufayan Bakeries uses old-world recipes with only top quality, wholesome ingredients. Toufayan Pita is naturally cholesterol free and trans fat free. With Toufayan pitas, it’s easy to make a healthy, delicious sandwich or stuffed salad recipe. It’s also great for sloppy joes, pizzas, paninis, tacos, fajitas or cut for appetizers with your favorite dip or spread, falafel, etc.
I chose to make Veggie Pita Sandwiches with Avocado Hummus using their Organic Sprouted Whole Wheat Pitas. Stuffed inside is alfalfa sprouts, sliced tomatoes and cucumber and homemade avocado hummus spread. Delish! These stuffed pitas are fresh, have the perfect crunch and are vegan. These really hit the spot, especially when you’re craving some veggie and whole grain goodness in your day.
The avocado hummus is super easy to whip together and can be used for more than just the spread in these sandwiches. I had to stop myself because I was eating it straight out of the bowl…I needed to save some for my pitas! So get creative with not only the pitas, but the spread, too!
If you don’t want to use this variety of pitas, don’t fret! Toufayan Bakeries offer SO many varieties of pitas, such as White, Multi Grain, Oat Bran, Savory Garlic, Sweet Onion and Whole Wheat. Their products are available nationwide. Click Here to check availability near you.
