Hello there! I am a Utah Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) with a Master of Dietetics Administration from Utah State University. Since becoming a registered dietitian in 2011, I have worked to provide tailored nutrition coaching and sustainable life changing services for my clients.
I truly believe in an “everything in moderation” approach and encourage clients to ditch the diet mentality and enjoy real, whole foods – and yes, that includes dessert! My passion is health and nutrition; but I also love cooking and baking in the kitchen with my family and being active. I enjoy most physical activity, including running, home video workouts, basketball and walking. At home, I am the wife to a wonderful husband (aka the hubs) and mom to two handsome and bright little boys. I have learned to make personal and family time just as important as work time. I love crafting, reading, playing the piano, gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with the hubs and my kids. My favorite foods are strawberries, roasted vegetable chicken lasagna, and dark chocolate.
I am the owner and writer of Your Choice Nutrition blog, a healthy lifestyle, food and fitness blog, which I use as a way to share my passion for health, cooking, baking and all things nutrition with all of you. Whether encouraging you to try a healthier version of a classic recipe, go running for the first time, or to explore other areas of health and wellness, I aim to show you that it doesn’t have to be complex or expensive to be healthy – and in fact, it can even be fun! On my blog, you’ll find healthy recipes, exercise tips, health and wellness information, and daily happenings.
I am a member of several professional organizations including, The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Utah Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Dietitians in Business and Communications Practice Group, Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group, The American Association of Diabetes Educators, and The Academy of Certified Diabetes Educators.
